Another Mac Purchase:) And some Brushes

I just got these things today, so I cant really do a review on them but once I've began to use them I will let you know how their working:)
So first off, I got an eyeshadow in Bisque, its a matte eyeshadow and is very light basically skin colour. It is extremely soft and very pigmented. The only thing is, I don't have an all over eyeshadow brush ( i know, weird) so I use my fingers. And when using my fingers it requires lots and lots of layers, for some colour to show through. But it is a nice all over neutral shadow.
Next, I got The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium, this is my first time buying it so I'm excited to try it out, if anyone knows anything about it, feel free to tell me.
And lastly I got MACs studio Finish Concealer in NC15, very creamy I really like it! But I do feel like its going to run out quickly, just because it is really creamy, which will make me use more of it:P Once again if you have anything to say about this product, feel free to leave a comment:)

From Left to right- Mineralize Skinfinish, Studio Finish Concealer, Bisque

So as for brushes, I went to my local shoppers drug-mart to buy them, because I had a bunch of points and therefor could buy around 55 dollars worth in stuff. So basically I was looking for something that I could apply the concealer with and also something to buff in my powder. I ended up with two Lise Watier Brushes, which were very reasonably priced:) I was going to get smashbox ones but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on brushes! I know people will tell me time and time again that brushes are an investment and if i buy a good quality set it will last me forever but I just cant ever see that happening:P Anyways, I got a kabuki brush and a blending brush.
The kabuki brush was looking fine and dandy until I washed it... when purple water started coming out. I don't know why or how that happened, I'm thinking either its the dye from the brush or maybe i took a tester? either way, it was weird, other then that its a great brush, very dense and I would recommend it to anyone. Now, the blending brush will be used as a concealer brush and i really like it, its big and soft so pretty good:)

Review- LUSH Snow Fairy

You can click to enlarge this and see the sparkles!!

So the very first Lush product I have ever purchased was the Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel. And I absolutely LOVE it! The smell is just wonderful! Its very candyish and also has a kind of strawberry banana scent. I use just a little bit on a loofah and its very nice, it lathers almost immediately and fills the bathroom with a heavenly scent. I have also tried just squirting a little in my hand and rubbing it all over but it doesn't lather as well that way and also doesn't leave the scent lingering on your body for a long time. But I do find that with a loofah the smell stays for a good couple of hours, I do with they made a body lotion though, that would be wonderful!
By far, my favourite thing about it is that it is very gentle on my sensitive skin; with a lot of cleansers I find myself covered in red bumps the next day but this one doesn't do that to me, which is a great relief. I will definitely continue to buy this product year after year, and it has also made me more aware of Lush. I think I will try out a couple more of their products, I am allergic to bubble bath and things like that though so I may just be sticking to soaps and shower gels:)
Anyways, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a sweet, happy, fresh shower gel and is willing to spend a little bit extra. I bought the 500ml and that came out to 20$ but I'm pretty sure they come in smaller sizes.
Oh and I forgot to mention that their is a small gathering of sparkles at the bottom of the container, this worried me at first but i dont think it will be a problem:)
The next thing on my wish-list is "Honey I Washed the Kids" soap, I hope your listening Santa!:)

I went into MAC! :)

Without Flash (Satin Taupe on left, Well dressed on right)

With Flash

So the other day, I went out looking for a dress, but instead I ended up in MAC. Now this was not a MAC store but instead a little kiosk in a bigger department store. So I walked through it quickly but my mom was not about to let me walk out of there empty handed. So i went back, with my sweaty nervous palms and picked out a blush and eyeshadow. I really wanted the 239 brush but they were behind the checkout counter which means I would have had to ask for it, and that was not about to happen.

But I am very happy with my purchases! This was my very first MAC blush. I have been using the NARS orgasm for the longest time but found that it was just to dark for my skin tone. So I got the MAC Powder Blush in Well Dressed, it is a very nice light peachy pink colour. I apply it with the MAC 168 brush just to the apples of my cheeks, it gives a nice light rosy effect.
I also go the eyeshadow in Satin Taupe. I heard a lot of great things about this eyeshadow. Mainly that if you were running late or having a lazy day you could just sweep it over your lid and go. And I must say, this is true, its a great go to colour. I have used every day since buying it and have paired it with different crease and outer corner colours every day. I really like it with Mulch is the crease and any dark brown in the outer corner or revlon matte eyeshadow in Riviera blue. Which is a nice dark blue colour.

When swatched, I find that Satin taupe comes off a little darker then it actually does on the lid but other then that the quality is great, very smooth and seamless.

Anyways, I had a question; I have been watching a lot of youtube videos lately and I see girls saying that they need to return their empty packages to mac? So if anyone could let me in on that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Aerie- Katie: Dupe for Michael Kors Very Hollywood

I was recently out shopping when I remembered that one Thursday per month I can go and get my free gift from Aerie, so off I headed. I went to the cash and the lady told me that I had the choice of one of the four little dabber bottles of perfume. I looked over them and quickly realized that the perfume I had been debating buying the previous week was there, so naturally I chose that one.
And that is the one named "Katie", its in a clear bottle and has a cute little bow top, it holds 75 mL of the perfume. Everyday for the last week I have been wearing this perfume and I must say that it smells very much like the Michael Kors Very Hollywood, which I am DYING for for Christmas. The full bottle of the Aerie perfume is around 50$ or so and the Very Holly wood Set (including a 1.7 oz spray bottle and lotion) costs around 65 dollars.
I debated getting the Aerie perfume but decided that for a measly price difference of just 15 dollars I should just get the Very hollywood. As it probably has a longer lasting scent and truly is the one I fell in love with. Not to mention the Very Hollywood bottle is TO DIE FOR.

The scent is very refreshing yet also musky it has hints of orange and floral from what I smell. But I do remember reading somewhere that a perfume smells differently to everyone that smells it. I envision it as a dressy going out smell but at the same time very summery and active. Its one of those perfumes that you can go anywhere with and do anything.
Anyway, thanks for reading

INS n OUTS

Im on a blogging roll!:) woo
Anyway heres what I'm really feeling and also things that are just yucky:(

In
- V.C ANDREWS! love her, she writes awesome awesome awesome creepy kinda horror books. A lot of them are pretty old ( i got mine at a used book store) but the content is just amazing, she really knows how to write
- Neutrogena's Anti residue Shampoo, totally what I needed. It stripped my hair of all the gunk and crap that had been building in it for months. I used it in combination with the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep conditioner and Im just loving it! The shampoo took out all the heavy products in my hair and then the conditioner just pumped it full of nutrients. The triple moisture conditioner is one of those conditioners that actually leave your hair feeling and looking shiny. I wouldn't recommend using the shampoo every day though as it can leave your hair feeling brittle and squeaky. The smell of both are nothing special but who cares!

Out
- Foundation and concealer not lasting all day:( for some reason, in recent weeks, I cannot seem to get my makeup to stay on for more then 4 hours. Its really starting to bother me! I dont touch up my makeup because I am still in high-school and find it really weird and embarrassing to do so while in school (I dont know why but I do). Anyway, I start with Smashbox photofinish primer, then my foundation, Maybeline's dream Liquid Mouse in light 1, then use Almay concealer and top it off with physicians formula Mineral wear translucent powder and once in a while I'l put on Make up Forevers High definition Powder. I know part of the problem is the fact that im using cheap concealers and foundation but if you have any suggestions Im open to buying anything. I do have oily, VERY sensitive skin though so a foundation that caters to those needs would be great.

FOTD- Face of the Day

So here's just a brief look into what I looked like today (I said look a lot in that sentence)
So basically heres what we've got-
- Benefit's creaseless cream eyeshadow in Birthday Suit all over the lid
- Red Earth's First Romance in just center of lids ( light frosty pinky peach colour)
- MAC's Mulch along crease
- Bobby brown's Espresso Eyeshadow on outer corner
- Annabelle liquid eyeliner in Black out along lashline
- Lise Watier Portfolie Correctors, Lilac in inner corner
- couple coats of Maybeline Volum' Express Turbo Boost on top and bottom lashes
- And to top it all off, Loreal's Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara
Hope You have a wonderful day!:)

Does anyone else suffer from this fear?

Shopping for makeup is a fun, exciting time, right? Well for most people it is, myself included. But that joy leaves my mind as soon as I set foot in MAC. I live in constant fear that the ladies and men working at MAC are judging my makeup and how I do it, and for that very reason, I have yet to buy a MAC item in store, but instead have ordered everything online.
Now before you write me off as crazy, listen to my reasoning. The people in there are all trained in beauty, and know far more then I could ever imagine, which in turn, makes them intimidating. And if thats not enough every single one of them looks like they have just stepped off a runway, all are strikingly beautiful, which leads to me to feel like a lesser individual. I feel embarrassed as I purchase something because I feel as though they are critiquing it. In reality I know they aren't and i know they are just doing there job, but until the day comes that untrained and less beautiful people begin to work at MAC, I will continue to purchase online.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
Anyway, this post comes because I am just on the way out the door to do some shopping, perhaps I'l drop into MAC? Nah, highly doubtful.

My very 1st blog post, WOOHOO!:) Well I have been debating doing this for a while, and as you can see, I'm going with my gut feeling! Basically this blog will revolve around all things beauty, fashion and just some random things. I am going to be very dedicated to this and for the next while, my life will revolve around this blog (Scary thought).

Anyway, just so you get a little visual, I am 17 years old and I love makeup. I live in Canada but frequently visit the States for shopping and what not.

I will also just give you a bit of a profile of myself because whenever I go to beauty blogs, the first thing I look for is someone who has the same skin type as myself, and other things. So without further ado;
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Dirty blonde (ish)
Skin: Combination (Oily and Dry) Freckled and VERY pale
Sex: Girl
Age: 17
So there ya go.Thanks so much for everything, xoxo
